Our second main crop is onions – we grow a number of varieties which suit our needs best. Growing mainly brown cooking onions, and also a small area of red salad onions. Our onions are harvested in September and dried in store to achieve an excellent skin finish – they are then kept in ambient temp stores and sold as per customer requirement. Our selling season starts in November and usually ends May/June the following year. We supply main London wholesale markets and also local merchants. Our onions are especially commended for their strong flavour and good size, and are ideal for Indian restaurants and the catering trade. These are sold in 25kg sacks and we can cater for customers who require just a few bags, and also to those that require 10 ton + loads.
The main merchants we supply to are EA Williams (Covent Garden) and GA Hobbs & Sons (Lt Downham).
